We had a quiet Easter this year. I was out late the night before traveling home from a business trip, so we spent much of the day resting. The mister did homework while I had my nose buried deep in a book (The Fault In Stars--so good people!) I did however, muster up the energy to attempt cooking a ham. I have to say, it didn't turn out half bad! Plus, we now have leftovers for days--que ham and cheese quiche, ham and egg sandwiches, cobb salad, etc.
My mom spoiled us absolutely rotten with a glorious pair of Easter baskets. We were giddy about those things for hours. They were piled with all of our favorite treats and other surprises. She is an angel, that woman.
But most importantly, we spent the day reflecting on our Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that he suffered all things to give me the chance to live. His sacrifice makes me whole.
#because of him
For once in a blue moon, the mister had work off on Saturday night! Can you even believe it? I had almost forgotten what it was like to hang out with that guy on the weekends. Pure joy, I tell you! I'll be out of town over most of Easter weekend on business (when did I become an adult?), so we began the holiday festivities a couple weeks early. The night included good friends, 3 dozen hardboiled eggs, fresh baked cinnamon rolls, and lots of snuggles. It was funny to see the guys eggs in comparison to the girls. Think complete masterpieces versus suicide eggs (aka an egg dipped in EVERY color). Those silly boys, they were such good sports.
It was a perfect little weekend to get us relaxed and ready for the craziness of the upcoming month. Think two out-of-state trips, Easter, finals, some special visitors, work, and beginning an internship. Oh, and hopefully some blogging in between!
Happy Early Easter!
