The Dress

I was one of those bride's who knew EXACTLY what I wanted out of a wedding dress.
Lace.
Ivory.
Three-quarter length sleeves.
Simple.
No bulk, no train.
My mama and sister came all the way from Colorado one weekend to help me with my dress search.
And I found it!
Right there on a mannequin, a size too small.
It didn't have three quarter length sleeves and did have quite a full back,
but I somehow managed to squeeze it on and fell in love instantly!
I had to order the right size all the way from Asia and it arrived just 3 weeks before the wedding.
But man oh man,
was that lacy, ivory, button-backed dress lovely.
Here are some of my bridal taken by none other than my sweet mother-in-law.

Bridal Shower

Remember how I haven't blogged in *glup* 2 months?
But I think I have some pretty good explanations.
You know with
getting married,
having a dream wedding,
honeymooning in mexico,
moving into a darling new apartment,
starting my last semester of college,
and all.

Anyhow, I figured it was high time I played a little game of catchup.
Back in December, my mother-in-law, sister, and mama threw me a smashingly fun bridal shower.
Complete with brunch
(think fresh pastries, a delectable fruit spread, yogurt bar, hot apple cider, etc.)
some of my favorite ladies,
and a pistacchio green kitchen aid.
I about died when I opened that thing.
I still salivate every time I look at it perched on my little kitchen counter!

It sure feels good to be back in the blogging world!
Check back soon for more life updates,
and some EXCITING new changes on my little blog.

Planning and Cake. Lots and lots of cake.

After a full week at home
and 6 venue tours, 2 caterer tastings, 3 cake tastings, 3 photographers emailed, a florist selected, a honeymoon booked, a doctors appointment, and countless other odds and ends...
and I think it is safe to say that we are neck deep into this wedding planning business.
It is nice to be off of school and have all the time in the world for this.
Every minuet of the day the cogs and wheels in my brain are turning
as I plan things out and create this image in my head of how I want our special day go .
We are getting so close to making REAL decisions.
But mostly we have loved getting to spend so much time together surrounded by family and friends without the distractions of school and work and studies and real life
as we plan the happiest day of our lives.
It can be stressful and overwhelming when you look at that mile long to-do list.
And I'll admit that I have shed quite a number of tears over the process already.
But at the end of the day you remember the most important thing and the reason for doing all of this.
In just 126 days I will be sealed to my best friend for all time and eternity.
We will be together forever and ever and ever.
And that is true happiness.
Oh and...the free cake doesn't hurt either.
Hehehe....
