California Adventure: Small Town Lovin

Coarsegold, California.
Ever heard of it?
No...me either.
But what a gem it turned out to be!
With gorgeous mountain scenery,
stargazing skies to kill for,
night swims in the Veater pool,
my first (and life-changing) experience with creamed eggs,
giant swirled soft serve cones at the Frosty,
thrifting,
cookie baking,
and long drives on winding roads with country music blaring.

We took a trip down to the Fresno Temple.

Went to a evening showing of Captain America in 3-D.
Surprisingly, I rather enjoyed it,
despite the horrendous cliff hanger of an ending.

We may have even popped out the lens of our 3D glasses
and embarrassed our whole lives (and the Veater family's whole lives) away in Walmart.
But sometimes it is just more fun
to be still the
silly,
crazy,
giggly,
carefree,
teenage girls
that we will always secretly be at heart.

We conquered two mini-hikes in Yosemite National Park.
One to a bluff with the most breathtaking of views.
(The pictures don't even begin to capture the majesty of the scenery)
One to a little meadow in the middle of the forest.
We spread out a sheet,
ate a picnic lunch
(and by picnic oranges, sweet and salty bars, and water),
and soaked up the peacefulness of mother nature undisturbed.

How'd I get so lucky,
to have the best best friend in the entire world?
(also the most patient, beautiful, kind, and selfless, if i do say so myself!)
Thanks for hosting me Taylor Ann.
It was a perfect sort of vacation!
And just what I needed before we will be forced to spend 4 (long) months apart!
How will I ever survive?

Happy Besties!  Oh Happy Life!
