Sunday Drive

The mister always works on Sunday afternoons.
And today I needed to WAKE UP after working 16 hours yesterday, including the graveyard shift.
So it seemed like a drive towards the mountains for a dry run of my Mayor's on Wheels route would be a fine way to pass away the time.
It was a tiny bit rainy and the mountains looked so beautiful poking right up into the clouds.
I drove too fast around the twists and turns of the mountain roads and played my music a little too loud.
But sometimes you just have to do that.

I loved seeing the pairs of deacons walking around collecting fast offerings.
I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw one boy kick his companion in the bum as they walked...only to find that his shoe was quite muddy!

As I drove through the darling old neighborhood tucked into the mountains I day dreamed about owning a house of our own someday.
A little red brick house in the woods where I can put out feeders for the birds and have a swing on the front porch.
I'll serve the mister cold lemonade out of mason jars on warm Sunday afternoons.
We will have babies running around and be busy as ever.
But Sundays, will always be peaceful.
Life like that is far distant yet,
but a girl can dream, can't she?

Happy Rainy Sunday Afternoon!  Oh Happy Life!

  1. A Grandma can dream of little Grandbabies too -- but not yet!

Sounds like a very peaceful day.
